A voice over actor is judged by different parameters according to Peter Salzano a famous voice actor and blogger. Below are some of those judging factors that you should prepare before going for an audition.
1. The Reading
Before even the actual casting the client already has an idea of the voice he is looking for. But it depends on the person to use the voice to interpret the reading copy.
2. Audio Quality
Audio quality plays a very important role while auditioning. You might fulfill the requirement of the client but if the audio quality is not up to the mark, the chances are you’ll lose the opportunity.
3. Accents
For some jobs accent can be an advantage but if you don’t have an accent there is nothing to worry about. It is more important whether you are able to learn the accent when needed.
4. Speech Pattern
Your thoughts flow smoothly when you speak in a well-modulated manner. Peter J Salzano recommends that your speech should be normal as how you speak but should be impressive.
5.Credentials/ Experience
Your experience is the one factor the judge will consider. However the audition that you give is of more importance than your training or experience letter.
The above are some of the factors listed by Peter Salzano which are considered in auditioning.
